FIRESIDE HISTORY WITH MICHAEL BESCHLOSS

It was my pleasure to team up with NBC/Peacock, Presidential Historian Michael Beschloss, and Creative Director Ventura Castro for this fun show opener.

I love the way this came out, and feel like I could watch it over and over. The design traces the history of NBC as a broadcasting company, from the days of radio through television and beyond. The old-school soundtrack and retro color palette fit sweetly into my own vintage design sensibility, and the whole thing just kind of works.

Once I switched hats and looked at the design frames as an animator, I felt like it all felt too flat, and thought it would be fun to include 3D in the mix. It took me a while to figure out, but combining the CINEMA 4D Renderer and Ouroboros did the trick. It’s so great that we can do this kind of thing directly in AE now.
